SA Fashion Week (DAY 4) 1 April 2012 – Pre and Post show Glamour

Finally the first part of the fashion mayhem is over and Joburg, once alive with all the finest in garment construction, showed me that the beast had beauty.

The Crown Plaza, in Rosebank was the temporary home for this auspicious event and we sure were looking forward to the big reveals.

As it was the last night, you could tell the boys and girls attending and gracing us with their street style, were really taking it easy tonight.

The Black suit had a daring appearance, a crisp white shirt and the persona to put James Bond to shame. Sophia Town came alive as this winters trend with printed fabrics and Indian cottons somewhat resonating in the background. Tonight, these attributes are prominent, with the men pulling daring lines and colours through with the modern suit.

Winter may be fast approaching on Joburg slickers but trust me, it doesn’t mean you sacrifice on style.

The ladies, not to be outshined showed us what they can do. Tribal prints, asymmetric lines, hounds tooth and wide legs dominated in fierce poses. I saw the si shwe shwe take an A-line design, sophisticated.

RED ALERT!!!

If you don’t own a bow tie, Guys and Girls, you will be ‘so last year’. Definitely adding that to my list of must have accessories this winter.

I must say though the suite has reclaimed itself as that never fading MUST in a gentleman’s wardrobe. Whether it’s the good old Black suite or the Modern suite it has found its podium to shine this autumn. Oh, please if you playing with the leg length consider if your ankles could withstand the public shame.
